Independent Rescuers are various individuals who find stray animals or individuals who can no longer keep their pet. Rather than immediately bringing the animal to a shelter, these individuals are posted to try to find them homes in an attempt to find them homes rather than bring them to a shelter. Each animal listed is done so through an independent person and in the case of stray animals, the individual has made every attempt to locate the homeless animal's owner by posting flyers throughout the area where the animal was found, having the animal scanned for a microchip, notifying the local shelters and posting the animal on the online adoption sites. If no owner is found, then its rescuer provides needed care, food and fostering for the pet until a permanent, loving home can be found.
