Animal Control provides for the safety and welfare of the residents. Animal Control enforces state laws and county ordinances as they apply to domestic animals. The department operates a shelter for the specialized care of animals in their custody. The shelter provides veterinarian care for homeless or unwanted animals until they are adopted or placed with an animal rescue organization. This facility does not euthanize healthy, adoptable animals.
If you are interested in adopting a pet, you must meet the following requirements: Agree to the terms of the adoption application. Be at least 18 years old. Have a current state-approved identification card or driver's license. Not banned from future adoptions as a result of a court order. Pass an adoption screening.
