Friends Fur Life Rescue is a 501(c)3, non-profit organization that is strictly made up of animal loving volunteers. Our mission is to rescue “at risk” dogs and cats that have been discarded and forgotten. We focus on the seniors, the ones with health issues and those abandoned, abused or neglected. Many animals we take in have extensive health or behavior issues and are pulled from local shelters before they are euthanized. Our only goal is to give every animal their furever home. FFLR does not have a physical building, utilities, or paid staff; so all fundraising and donations go directly to the animals. Our team of volunteers take the dogs and cats into their homes as fosters and nurse them back to health, work on any behavior issues and prepare them for their forever home. Fostering increases the chances for a successful and smooth adoption. We also do community outreach projects. One of our projects is to help the community with TNR to reduce the numbers of feral cats and kittens. Another project we are very proud of is our Bella’s Bounty program that allows us to assist those in need with temporary food and vet assistance to keep their fur babies in their home instead of having to relinquish them.
Our adoption process is like many other rescues, but is different from most shelters and breeders. Since we do not have a physical building, you are not able to meet the animals prior to application. Browse our available pets on Petfinder, and see who may be your purrfect fit. From there, you can ask questions at applications@friendsfurliferescue.com or complete the application below. Completing the application does not mean you have to adopt the animal, we strive to find each animal the best home for them. Since we are all volunteers, we do ask that you allow us 72 hours to process an application or respond to emails, we are usually much quicker than that, but we all have careers and families outside of the rescue. We will contact your references and complete a check from your vet, you may be asked to release information to us from your vet. After the quick background check, we will contact you with next steps, depending on the animal and situation this could be a video call or a live home visit. We strive to be up front and transparent throughout the entire adoption process, this generally takes about a week. We do want to make sure you and your family are sure this is the best fit!
