The City of Franklin Police Department’s Animal Control Division is responsible for enforcing animal control ordinances within the city. Animal control officers also oversee the adoption of animals that have found their way into the city’s animal shelter. These officers investigate complaints of animal cruelty, nuisance animals, rabies exposures, animal bites, and wildlife complaints. The mission of the City of Franklin Animal Control Division is to protect and serve the residents of the City of Franklin as well as their companion animals.

Adoption Process

Animal Control Officers endeavor to provide a clean, healthy, and inviting environment to view animals that are available at the City of Franklin Animal Shelter for adoption. Fees & Requirements: You must be a resident of the City of Franklin or a surrounding locality; You must be at least 18 years of age; Persons convicted of an animal felony cannot adopt; You must agree to have the animal sterilized within 30 days or when the animal comes of age; There is a $10.00 fee to adopt an animal from the shelter; however, we will refund $5.00 upon proof of sterilization.
