Forever Fortunate Felines mission is to save cats from high kill shelters and give them the love and care they deserve in foster homes until they are healthy and ready for adoption. We currently work with high kill shelters in Iowa, Chicago, Indiana, and Kentucky and we rescue cats in urgent need. We are a fully foster based organization which we see as a large advantage as our cats are not kept in cages/cat condos, they have the opportunity to socialize with other cats, dogs, kids in the foster home. Our cats truly become well socialized before being adopted. Additionally we pride ourselves on open communication between our foster parents and potential adopters which helps to ensure you understand your cats behavior before you adopt!
Completing our online application does not commit you to adopt from our rescue. Rather it helps us to understand your requirements and match you with the best possible cat or kitten. Once you complete the application and it is approved, we can set up a meet and greet and if all works out, you may bring the kittens or cats home the same day. Please make sure to bring an adequately sized pet carrier with you to your meet and greet. We recommend a pet carrier that opens from the top as this is the easiest way to place a cat inside a carrier. If you do decide to adopt, we do expect you to take home your cat the same day as there are so many cats and kittens which need to be rescued from high kill shelters, we almost always rescue a new cat or kitten the very next day. If it is not possible for you to take your cat or kitten home the same day, we do charge a boarding fee of $3 per day for supplies and to encourage you to take your newly adopted cat home. We will board for a maximum of 3 days if needed to allow you time to get needed supplies.
