Adoption Process

In order to be considered for adoption, your application must be COMPLETE and includes: MEET & GREET - Everyone in the household has met the pet (including your own dogs - please bring proof of current vaccinations for the meet and greet). IDENTIFICATION - Copy of your ID (not military ID). PROOF OF HOME OWNERSHIP OR PET POLICY - If you rent, you must have documentation (including applicable restrictions) stating you're allowed a pet. VETERINARY REFERENCE - Veterinary reference for any animals you've owned in the past 5 years. Dogs must be up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention. Cats must be up to date on vaccines. All animals in the home must be spayed/neutered (unless too young or there is a documented medical reason). You can email any part of your application to [email protected] and please include the name of the pet you are wishing to adopt as the subject line. REMINDERS: FAPS often gets multiple applications on a single pet. If another home is chosen, this does NOT necessarily mean your application has been denied for adoption. Applications are NOT first-come-first-serve, but it is first MOST appropriate home for the pet. Because we have a very limited staff, we are not able to call every applicant once an animal is adopted. It is incumbent on you to call and check on the status of any application.
