The DeKalb Humane Society filed for our Certificate of Incorporation on December 23, 1975 and we were granted 501(c)3 status in March of 1976. We are committed to being a no-kill shelter and serving the DeKalb County area by promoting animal adoption, education on responsible animal ownership & welfare, and raising awareness of animal neglect & abuse.
An approved adoption application is required for all adoptions. Please note that it currently takes 3-5 business days to process submitted adoption applications. All adoptable pets must be spayed or neutered before going to their new home.
