The City of Saint Charles Animal Welfare Services focuses on the care of all animals in our City, through our Animal Control Division, as well as through our partnership with Five Acres Animal Shelter. Five Acres Animal Shelter provides the following services: Operation of the City of Saint Charles Animal Shelter; Coordinating pet adoptions; Managing volunteers. The City of Saint Charles Animal Shelter always has a variety of dogs, cats and sometimes other animals that are available for adoption to anyone, regardless of place of residence.
If you are interested in adopting a new pet, visit our shelter at 2835 W. Randolph Street (63301) during the Shelter Hours shown on the right. When you visit, you will have the opportunity to get to know our animals. If you have other pets at home, you may be asked to bring them in to see how the animals interact together. Once you have selected a new pet, you will complete an adoption application, which will be reviewed by Five Acres Animal Shelter personnel. Five Acres reserves the right to refuse any pet adoptions.
