We are an all volunteer organization dedicated to the rescue and adoption of the Chihuahua and Chihuahua cross canine. We strive to educate the public on the importance of responsible pet ownership and spend a great deal of time and energy towards this endeavor. All of our pets are cared for in individual private homes as a family pet and though we are not pet rehabilitators we do our best to make the pets the best canine citizens possible!
The adoption process includes filling out this questionnaire and signing an Adoption Agreement. We expect your new family member be kept inside. We check Vet references and with landlords before adopting to anyone. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines, have been heartwormtested (if old enough) and are on monthly heartworm & flea prevention. Medical needs are addressed before adoption, unless otherwise noted, including heartworm treatments. Please keep in mind that the average cost to care for a dog each year is between $500 and $1000. This is for annual check-ups, food and monthly preventatives. This amount could easily double or even triple should your dog become ill and need extensive tests, surgery or other treatments. So please carefully consider if you are able and/or willing to invest this into your pet. If not, PLEASE wait to adopt! If the dog you are interested in is no longer available please list a 2nd choice or a description of your desired canine companion. Please remember these dogs were stray or abandoned. We guess on their breed. We do not know their heritage. Please do not expect your new family member to be perfect. The only perfect dog is a statue or stuffed toy. A rescued dog is forever grateful for being a loved part of your family. Although all of our animals are thoroughly evaluated, we cannot guarantee their health or temperament.

The FACE Low-Cost Animal Clinic is not a shelter. The animals in our care are former community cats that could not return to their neighborhood due to illness or safety concerns. They live here temporarily until we can find them good homes. We have done what we can to make their lives here comfortable. We’ve incorporated a free-roaming cat room with vertical space and added an outdoor enclosure.

We have been rescuing ferrets since 2009 in the Indianapolis area. We began innocently enough, searching for a couple of personal pets and discovered so many ferrets in need of good homes. Unable to find a local rescue, we took in several and while having them vetted, our veterinarian suggested we start rescuing. Unknowingly, we already were. All too soon, we realized we would not be able to car
