The Cherokee Humane Society, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) very limited in-take shelter whose mission is to reduce the number of unwanted and abused animals in Cherokee County, AL through spay/neuter, rehoming, and adoption programs.
If you are ready to take some love, it is fun, easy and we are right here to help. First, take a look at the animals we currently have available or call us at 256-779-7159 to set up a tour of our facility by one of our wonderful Volunteers so you can meet your future pet one-on-one. Next, you will need to complete an Adoption Application. The adoption fee for each animal is $85 for cats/kittens, $175.00 -$200 for puppies, $125 - $175 for Adult dogs* (purebreds $200.00), and covers the following: First set of shots (including rabies) and worming; Heartworm tested (adult dogs); Spayed/neutered (all animals). Note: Some of our older dog rescues, special need dogs looking for homes may be $75.00; we really need to place these loving animals that deserve a new chance in a loving home!
