AARF is an all volunteer, non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization dedicated to saving the lives of last chance animals. Most of the animals we save are from tri-state shelters and animal control facilities. We don't operate a "traditional" shelter, although we do have a facility where we house animals awaiting transport to rescue groups or adopters in other regions, and, those awaiting their chance to enter a foster home. We are a strict NO KILL operation.

We are a small group of dedicated volunteers based in Ashland, KY. We are located in what is referred to as the "Tri-State" area, as it is where WV, KY and OH meet. Given our location, we have access to assist needy dogs in all three states (within a certain mile radius).
