We are a foster-based, all-volunteer nonprofit 501(c)3 rescue that takes in, fosters and finds forever homes for medium and large dogs as well as cats. We work primarily (but not exclusively) with hunting dogs such as Pointers and bully breeds such as Staffordshire Terriers. Our story starts 12 years ago, when the founder moved to Florida. Building on experience with rescue in California, she began volunteering at the local county shelter, a path that would lead to connections and a network of amazing rescuer friends and colleagues, and ultimately the formation of a rescue in order to help even more animals.
Adoption application: The first step in the process is to complete the adoption application. This helps us ensure a good fit between you and the animal you’re interested in. Please be aware that we do verify the information on adoption applications; please provide all information requested. Home visit: Next, we will ask you to complete a virtual home visit via video conference (Zoom or Facetime). Don’t worry, we’re not checking to see whether you did the dishes last night – we are just ensuring that our rescued animals are going into a safe and secure environment. Meet-and-greet: Once your application is approved, we setup a time for you to meet the pet. Finalize adoption: If you decide to adopt, we send you an adoption contract for eSignature; you can also pay within the same tool, or via cash/check.
