American Rescue Dog is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization dedicated to dog rescue, rehabilitation, adoption, community education and improving the quality of animal/human relations. The purpose of our organization is to rescue dogs from high-kill shelters and provide medical care, spay/neutering, rehabilitation and a permanent loving home. A thorough background check and interview is performed to ensure all of our rescue dogs are place with well-matched families. Our organization provides rehabilitation to those dogs in need prior to adoption to ensure the psychological needs to the animal are met before transition to a new home occurs. We do not work on first come first serve basis; we only adopt our dogs to the best possible home. American Rescue Dog also serves as a resource to our community by providing training and education to promote responsible pet ownership, the importance of spay/neuter, behavioral training and acceptance of all dog breeds. Our organization strives to educate, train and support dog owners, rescue groups, people who foster dogs, veterinarians and animal shelters on methods to improve their dog’s behavior. Increasing public awareness with this information we believe we can drastically reduce the number of dogs in need of rescue each year.
